Ali Kargarandehkordi

PhD Student, Hawaii

Ali Kargarandehkordi is a PhD candidate in Computer Science at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa, with a research focus at the intersection of mobile sensing, artificial intelligence, and digital health. His work centers on developing personalized machine learning models using biosignal data from wearable devices (e.g., Fitbit) to detect and predict mental health conditions such as stress-induced blood pressure spikes, stress and anxiety, and substance use behaviors.

Chris Slade

PhD Student, Hawaii

Christopher Slade earned a Bachelor’s Degree in 2002 and a Master’s Degree in 2005 in Computer Science from Brigham Young University. He has been a professor at Brigham Young University—Hawaii since 2007, teaching Computer Science. He is currently working on his PhD under the direction of Dr. Peter Washington in the UCSF TECH Lab focusing on improving mobile adaptive health interventions.
